A Charitable Journey

Tukria & Sonali Village in Sonali Tea Estate in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, are two small villages located in the tea gardens of dooars. It is almost an hour and half drive from Siliguri subdivision towards Bagrakote where only a few thousands of people reside in the lap of nature.

In this region, the livelihood of most of the tea gardeners is below poverty line and many of them are deprived from basic necessities comprising of food, shelter, clothing, medicine, education etc.

In our country, ever since the campaign of adopting villages has taken a leap, Auxilium Convent School has made a significant contribution towards uplifting the underprivileged section of the society in such villages.

Every year, Auxilium Convent School management raises fund through Annual School Fete and other charitable programmes to help the poor and needy people who are less fortunate and poverty-stricken. Even during the challenging times of COVID-19 this campaign has not taken a backseat and like other missionaries, Auxilium too came to the rescue of the people staying in rural India.

This year, on the auspicious occasion of Republic Day, the sisters and teachers of Auxilium Convent School along with a large battalion of students came to the salvage of the poor and poverty-stricken commoners living in Tukria & Sonali Village near Bagrakote in Jalpaiguri district.

As a mark of charity, warm blankets and rice were distributed among hundreds of poor and needy villagers of the community.

These kinds of charity to provide food, clothing, education and other basic amenities to the underprivileged villagers in the tea garden area is frequently organized at Auxilium with the intention to prevent children, men and women from starvation, malnutrition and illiteracy.

Auxilium salutes every bit of support & cooperation from its beloved children & their parents towards playing a significant role with respect to this noble cause.

A deep sense of faith and trust in God among everyone in Auxilium family remain a source of inspiration to fight all odds and evils that may prove to be an obstacle in the path of humanity and mankind!
