- “Educate Persons with Character and Competence to build a civilization of Love.”
Auxilium Convent school is administered by the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC). The Congregation was founded on October 24th, 1942, at Guwahati, Assam by Venerable Bishop Stephen Ferrando who was a Salesian. He was the Bishop of Shillong when the World War II broke out. Seeing the abject misery, lack of educational facilities, health and hygiene he sensed the need of founding a Congregation of women who would dedicate themselves to the service of the people.
Through the apostolate of education, we inculcate Gospel values in our students to promote their integral development and transformation of society. Our educational mission is to build up human lives, communities and the wider society. The challenge of MSMHC is to build a new society through our educational institutions and organizations, in collaboration with all people of goodwill and to enable thousands to regain their dignity and self worth. The spirituality of communion and service lived by Jesus urges the MSMHC to dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to this mission.
Following the words of our Founder, “with special care, the sisters devote themselves to the education of children and young people by means of different kinds of schools”, our Method of Education is permeated by Gospel values. We strive to create a healthy environment in our educational institutions where students can experience a climate of love, serenity, familiarity, freedom, joy and optimism. We offer scope for spontaneity, creativity and a sense of daily duty borne out of love. Our institutions are imbued with a spiritual dimension, which is the hallmark of our Indian Culture that relates the students to God and to the community. Our method of education seeks to promote the integral growth of every child through a variety of curricular and co- curricular activities.
Auxilium Convent School is a family, comprising of sisters, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and their parents/guardians and other collaborators- all are engaged in one single project: the integral growth of the young people, namely, their physical, moral, cultural, mental and spiritual development. Through our way of education, we help the society to form mature citizens who will take their rightful place and play a responsible role in society.
Auxilium is an educative community wherein through our loving presence and friendly relationships with the staff, the students and the parents, we radiate the Gospel Spirit of truth, love, kindness, goodness, unity and justice. In the fulfillment of our educative mission we follow Don Bosco’s method of education that is based on reason, religion and loving kindness.
Our vision of Education, “Educate persons with character and competence to build a civilization of love”, goes far beyond the achievement of academic excellence. It includes a radical change in the person of the educated and the educator turning them from selfish concern to unreserved generosity towards God and their fellow beings.
With our institutions spread across every corner of our country, we make national integration a way of life. Auxilium Convent School, Siliguri aims at the all round formation of the students making them good human beings and worthy citizens of the country that is rich in diverse cultures, religions, languages and customs.
Let us join together and move forward with new enthusiasm and commitment.
"Each day is a Day of experience and Learning apart from academics here at Auxilium”
